It is estimated that, due to the decline in indigenous gas reserves, the UK will be importing 50% of its gas requirements by the end of this decade. The UK government has underscored the need to increase Britain's gas storage capacity to accommodate the increasing quantities of imported gas, and Star Energy has responded to the call by developing a 10 billion cubic feet gas store at Humbly Grove in Hampshire. The Humbly Grove gas storage facility is the first of a new generation of gas storage facilities that Star Energy is developing which will help secure UK gas supplies into the future.
